Resolution on our Tasks as Revolutionary Internationalists

The following text is one of the 4 political resolutions our 5th Congress agreed upon to share our current assesment of the political situation and our own goals for the coming period with the public.

All over the world, the current development of imperialism is creating new disasters for the working class and for the oppressed and dependent peoples, but these disasters are also new reasons to join the resistance against the imperialist world system. The rulers are very aware of this, and consequently they concentrate a large part of their forces on fighting revolutionary resistance potentials. It is our task to oppose these attacks with our internationalist solidarity.

In the Ukraine war – as a prelude to World War III – the Ukrainian working class is suffering massively, while Russian and Ukrainian workers are being wiped out at the front. Inside both countries, the rights of trade unions and militant workers are under attack and anti-war organizations are being persecuted. In West Asia, the Palestinian people continue to resist tirelessly, while the Israeli state is trying to use the situation after October 7 to break the struggle against their occupation by means of a genocidal war and at the same time further expand its own influence – and thus that of the Western imperialist bloc – in the region. The Turkish state is also trying to use the changed situation to contain the Kurdish freedom struggle and strangle the achievements of the democratic revolution in Rojava. In India and the Philippines, the reactionary forces are trying to destroy the militant movements that have been waging an armed struggle on a revolutionary basis for decades. Meanwhile, the imperialists are increasingly struggling for Eastern Europe and trying to exert their influence on mass movements that are developing against the political oppression and economic hardships of the masses. In Africa and Latin America, too, we are repeatedly seeing spontaneous mass protests on similar issues.

Let us Answer with Proletarian Internationalism!

In this confusing situation – in which toppling governments, shifting borders, mass movements, refugee movements, etc. are increasingly becoming part of everyday life internationally – it is up to communists to provide orientation. Orientation towards a communist world in which war, exploitation and oppression have been overcome. Orientation towards a socialist construction process that can eliminate the most important evils of capitalism and represents a real alternative. Orientation towards a socialist revolution as the strategic goal of a class-struggle movement that is not only absorbed in the defensive struggle but wants to develop its own perspective. Orientation towards the building of fighting communist parties that are able to stand at the forefront of class struggles.

We currently have only limited influence on the fundamental development of the political situation, both internationally and nationally. However, it is in our hands whether we manage to intervene properly and exploit the fractures and crises that the rotting capitalist system brings with it to strengthen our side.

The political response to the international inter-imperialist escalations must be all-round – it requires the unmasking of bourgeois propaganda through all the channels available to us, the development of lively, revolutionary agitation and propaganda work that links the necessity of socialist revolution through the violent seizure of power with the concrete problems, fears and legitimate needs of our class; the intervention in the class struggles in order to develop them further as the most advanced part.

The political struggle against all capitalist crisis phenomena must include living proletarian internationalism in theory and practice.

For us as communists in Germany, in relation to the national framework, this means organizing the working class in Germany across different nationalities, pushing back lines of division, chauvinism and racism within the class and using this path to fight for the common interests as a class – beyond origin, skin color and residence permit. It also means developing an awareness within the class that we are fighting for more than just ourselves and the supposedly “national” working class. It is our task to create an emotional connection and a deep consciousness among ourselves and the working class for the situation and struggles of our oppressed class brothers and sisters worldwide. To create an awareness of the need to end imperialist exploitation by Germany, because “a people that oppresses another people cannot be free”.

On an international level, we must support the struggles of our class in other countries: For example, by attacking the collaboration of German imperialism with the genocide in Gaza or fascism in Turkey, or by drawing attention to labor struggles in other countries and the role of German corporations in their exploitation through solidarity actions and campaigns.

Building International Relationships and Learning from Each Other

But as communist forces we must also strengthen our ties with other revolutionary and communist forces – especially where German imperialism is doing the most harm. International cooperation between revolutionary forces is still underdeveloped and lags far behind the objective necessities.

We see it as our task to develop international relations with other communist and revolutionary forces and to make their experience, methods of struggle and theoretical achievements available to the growing communist movement in our country.

Although we do not have a Communist International today and the conditions for its re-establishment cannot be created in the short term, certain partial functions such as the systematic exchange of experience, targeted joint work on party-building methods, joint ideological work and, above all, joint practice in the class struggle must be gradually rebuilt. Although we are still a comparatively young and inexperienced organization, we see it as our responsibility to make a contribution to this.

As communists living in Germany, it is our task to deal the deathblow to German imperialism. However, this struggle will be all the more determined the more it is waged in awareness of its significance for international class struggles. Proletarian internationalism, class cohesion across all borders, is therefore a strategic weapon on the road to the international victory of socialism.
