The following text is one of the 4 political resolutions our 5th Congress agreed upon to share our current assesment of the political situation and our own goals for the coming period with the public.
The crisis-ridden development of German capitalism is leading to ever stronger attacks on our class at all levels. The real causes are being hidden behind reactionary ideology, pitting the different sections of the working class against each other. The agitation against migrants, LGBTI+ people and the unemployed is intensifying. The increasing violence against women in particular shows the strengthening of patriarchal ideology.
However, there is also resistance to these attacks. Larger protest movements are repeatedly rolling across the country, focusing on individual contradictions in the capitalist system. However, this resistance is still taking place at a low level and under bourgeois leadership. As a result, our class remains disoriented, the forms of resistance one-sided and the political goals within the framework of the system. This is precisely why it is important for us today to recognize these contradictions and fractures through a sharpened political analysis and to intervene in the emerging struggles.
Being Part of Class Struggles and Driving them forward
The obvious weakness of all these movements is their lack of proletarian leadership, the lack of connection between us communists and the masses, which could raise the potential to a higher level in the first place. This weakness must be overcome step by step: By bringing together all struggles against capitalism and patriarchy, with diverse and consistent forms of struggle and the clear goal of socialism in mind, our class will unfold its revolutionary potential.
As communists, developing the aspiration to become leaders in the struggles of the class does not mean seeing ourselves as above the class – on the contrary. Becoming a leader means taking responsibility, leading the way in the most courageous way and confidently bearing all the consequences that come with it.
We can only expect our class to take the steps that we ourselves are prepared to take. As communists, we achieve leadership by being part of real struggles, initiating and advancing them and backing up our words with deeds.
We become leaders when we succeed in anchoring ourselves more deeply in the class, learning from it and developing the ability to intervene politically and, by combining the most diverse forms of struggle, to involve the largest possible sections of the masses in the struggles.
Answers are needed at all levels and in all sections of the class. That is why we must position ourselves just as broadly as we are attacked by those in power. We must intervene more strongly in struggles for partial demands and link them to our revolutionary and socialist slogans in order to simultaneously educate and raise class consciousness in these struggles.
The political response to the intensifying contradictions must therefore be to lose no time today, to bring together all sections of our class with their struggles in a class-struggle workers‘ movement, to link the struggles together and to move forward as communists in order to develop them further as a whole.
Standing firm in the Fire of Repression
The bourgeois state will not leave our struggle unanswered. It and its agencies of repression are already acting with foresight: while it was more restrained almost everywhere during the protests against the police murder of Lorenz or the subsequent May Day 2025 compared to previous years, attacks on the solidarity protests with Palestine or revolutionary forces that question the bourgeois leadership in anti-fascist protests are the norm. While the major bourgeois anti-AfD actions remain largely unchallenged, militant anti-fascism is being cracked down on. The state wants to separate us from the class, prevent the most consistent forms of struggle and defend the bourgeois leadership of the struggles.
As a result, individual comrades are repeatedly hit by particularly harsh repression, and more and more revolutionaries and anti-fascists are persecuted and imprisoned. At the same time, comrades are evading repression and going into hiding. But we remain united in the struggle: We salute all political prisoners, we salute all those in hiding!
Our solidarity work today must connect our class to the comrades behind the prison walls and in the underground. This necessary work will also increase for us as an organization the more successful we become in actually leading and advancing the struggles of our class.
As communists, we will always choose the forms of class struggle according to political necessity. We recognize the legitimacy of all forms of class struggle. In the future we must aim to develop its forms of struggle to a higher level or to ourselves reach a level of struggle existing in other parts of the revolutionary movement.
Moving forward together as a Revolutionary and Communist Movement
History has shown time and again that the ruling state will resort to all means to spread doubt, mistrust and pessimism among all those who are prepared to fight. It is precisely the common struggle that gives the revolutionary and communist movement as a whole the confidence that it is not alone and creates a real sense of victory.
We welcome the development of the communist movement towards more intensive exchange and cooperation and will continue to drive this forward in a targeted manner. We want to continue to establish a culture of revolutionary solidarity in Germany. To this end, a permanent struggle against competitive thinking, complacency, arrogance and sectarianism is necessary in our own ranks and in the revolutionary and communist movement. It is crucial to create a practical unity of struggle in action and working methods on the one hand, and on the other to engage in substantive exchanges and ideological discussions. The task must be to grow closer together as a revolutionary and communist movement and to see it as a common task to intervene in class struggles.
Only in this way will we become united in the class struggle to oppose the rulers and establish proletarian leadership on the road to socialism. Let us go forward together!
